Live recording from The Great Park's concert in Aarau, Switzerland in March 2018.
Some things to note about this recording:
Sophia Basler was able to join me on violin for this concert. Her newborn son was in the next room and super hungry so we were limited as to how long she could be away from him and play for. Normally she would be able to contribute to most of the set but there are more important things.
The concert was in a full room in a private house with a very loose, friendly atmosphere. There's a lot of talking between songs, also my terrible attempts at jokes and all sorts of nonsense. We cut a lot of this stuff out to try and make it as listenable as possible but there is a lot of talking and nonsense between songs.
The first and the last songs were played acoustic in the room, without the use of the PA. We've adjusted the levels for these songs but you'll hear a difference.
Simon Wittwer (at www.seewee.ch)
took the photo on the cover. He also chose to make a lot of other photos on the evening and this too is pretty audible on the recording. A selection of his images from the night are included in the download.
'When I Was Single' is a wreck as people were laughing too much.
Some other explanations about things happening that can't be seen but only heard on the recording include people laughing at me trying not to stamp my feet for most of the second half of the set, someone called Matthew and his friends laughing at the song sharing his name and Simon making me jump a bunch of times by photographing so close when I wasn't expecting it.
What the hell, it was fun night. Sophia played her heart out and I recorded it and here it goes online for anyone that is into this stuff.
Many thanks to Yannick and all at the house for the invitation and warm welcome.
Enjoy and share if you care
